New greenway trail

Our town recently completed a greenway near us.  Lucia and her daddy enjoyed breakfast at a bagel shop and then walked the greenway.  The last photo is on a trail around a lake near us, which was taken later that same day.

Park picnic

Late last week, we couldn't stand being inside anymore so we headed out to the park for a picnic lunch on a most beautiful, sunny day.  Fortunately at lunch time, the park wasn't full at all so we didn't have to worry about spreading our germs to others.  Pizza was requested by the eldest munchkin and I didn't have the heart to turn her down since she'd been so good about staying home.

Inside

We all battled a virus last week, and it persists a little this week.  Although the weather was gorgeous, we mostly stayed home and rested.  Kinda.... because as you know, kids aren't built to sit still.  A messy house reflects a fun house, I hope.

Treasure hunt

Before Grandma left to return home, she hid all kinds of little treasures all over the house.  Lucia has been enjoying finding them.  She also loves playing with her cash register that Grandma bought for her.  She often says "Mommy, let's play cash register" which is Lucia-ese for make-believe grocery shopping.

Last week's swimming class

Since swimming lessons are twice a week, the photos below are a mix of both lessons from last week.  The highlight of the week for our girl was riding the raft to the deep end of the pool.  She's making good progress using her hands to propel forward and then also can kick while on her back.

Charlotte

Our goal to see Aunt Mary lent itself to a road trip with Grandma last weekend.  We stopped at a children's library with interactive games, books and play areas; then stopped for lunch at a neat market next door; walked around a lake in a nearby park; and of course, swung in the swings and climbed the playground.  We attended meeting with Aunt Mary then all went out for lunch.

Choo Choo Train park

One beautiful clear morning (after a windy thunderstorm whipped through the evening before), we headed out to the Choo Choo Train Park.  Troy was working nearby so we stopped to see "DADDY" before playing at the park.  Lucia even got to help Daddy hold a hose while he showed us his research.

Swim lessons

Lucia started swim lessons last week.  Her teacher "Miss Coffee" aka Miss Kathy is a perfect fit for her.  I'm amazed at the different techniques used to help the kids.  If she comes away with more confidence and the ability to put her head down into the water, I will be very pleased.  She's already made great progress.

Children's museum

Last week, Grandma visited us and the girls were thrilled, especially the older one!  We had fun at the park, at the children's museum, at the pool, at the mall, at the bookstore, on a road trip, and much more.

Early in the week, we went to the children's museum with some friends.  The place was full and loud but not as packed as usual since school groups aren't allowed on Mondays.
