Appt updates
Three appointments in one week, but the updates are not too exciting. Not much has changed from the lymphoma side, so we're still in watch and wait mode. Baby's growing well, as seen by the 25 inch measurement of my 25 week uterus with child. And I'm supposed to eat more, which means I should quit working in order to eat every minute instead of every hour.

School lunches, again
Without trying to beat the subject to death, here's a different type of school lunch, compared to what is served in the American schools.

Mystery package
So yesterday a package with my name arrived in the mail. No mention of the gift giver at all. Anyway, a huge THANKS to whomever sent me an "Udder Cover." It is quite stylish and will be useful.

Why do mamas (and papas) gain weight?
Does anyone NEED pizza at 9:12 pm after a large supper and even dessert? Of course not, but food cravings can't be ignored. Actually I didn't know what I really wanted to eat at that late hour but felt like eating SOMEthing. After wandering through the grocery store and realizing that only lean cuisine frozen pizza, healthy choice frozen pizza, and any generic frozen pizza were items that caught my interest, the "tada" bell rang in my head telling me I wanted PIZZA. Yes, I'm very astute. But I was not about to actually bake a frozen pizza... too much work. We learned that the drive-thru cheapo pizza joint closes early, and Dominos is celebrating their 50th anniversary. Oh yeah, we NEED to participate in that celebration!

Spring cleaning
Since Troy left early this morning, I decided to tackle the windows and doors. Two point five hours, 11 windows (yes, there are another 15 to go), 3 doors and washing two slip covers was about all the excitement of dust Baby G and I could handle today. After stopping to see Troy, she and I picked up a few things at the grocery and now can chill for a bit. At least I can look out some clean windows! Part 2 of cleaning next time.....

Pretty good
Once upon a time, when asked what he felt like eating, he answered with something that his mama makes. Realizing her best strategy was to go straight to the source and ask, she telephoned the MIL who gladly shared the "secret." When presented with a taste test and quizzed if it was like his mama's, the answer of "pretty good" put a smile on her face. And they lived happily ever after. THE END.

Mama's been knittin'
Our local, downtown yarn shop carries organic, non-dyed, Peruvian cotton which knit up very nicely into an afghan for our living room. I had thought then that the yarn would make a great baby blanket, so a few months ago started this blanket. It knit up quickly and easily. It's fairly large so will be good for a crib, and as she becomes bigger, perfect for the end of a bed.

No wonder brown bag is the best option
Some of you might have heard of Jamie Oliver, a British chef who has been taping a documentary about school lunches. He chose Huntington, WVa as the town to attempt to modify the quality of the school lunches. We've only seen the first episode but apparently the show has been generating controversy. Quite honestly, it's difficult to watch the politicking and rather disgusting rules the government has tried to place on something as simple as feeding kids decent food. Given the number of obese children who wander through my office and undoubtedly eat only garbage that passes for "food", I applaud this man for his attempts at tackling Goliath.

Congratulations to Uk and Soo
We really like your new house (from the photos, anyway). You realize when you have five bedrooms, some of us will be expecting you to fill them up!! Hope your move goes well this summer.

Duke Gardens
The bird was watching the water very intently and then suddenly jumped in, returning out of water with a fish in its beak.

Trying out the new "dolsot"
These stone pots are very useful in Korean cooking and gets food extremely hot. The dish pictured above is "bibimbap" consisting of white rice, a mix of vegetables and beef, with a fried egg on top. Mixed with a hot sauce and sesame oil, it's one of Troy's favorite Korean dishes. The ones above are big enough to share.

kick-o-rama
Baby G's been fluttering about for the past couple of weeks, but yesterday decided to give me a wallop on the left side. For whatever reason she likes to move more in the evenings. Finally her papa is able to feel the kicking too! Exciting, for sure.

More Koreans
This family has taken the fashion world by storm. I've not read about the girls before but have heard about their parents.

Yoga
For a few years now, I've been a fan a yoga, thanks to a co-worker who enjoyed the practice. We took some classes together, and more recently I got a yoga DVD to use at home. Since becoming pregnant, I've looked into some prenatal yoga classes but didn't want to commit to twelve weeks of class. So, the next option is a prenatal yoga DVD which has turned out to be a pretty good alternative!

Fun week
Mom and Dad have been visiting this week, and we've enjoyed our time together. After my doctor's appointment, we drove around Raleigh some (stopping at the mall, of course) and eventually wandered over to the Duke Garden. They have also been golfing, and walked around Lake Pine. Yesterday with the bright sun and temperature nearly 90, we packed a picnic and went to Bond Park. This morning, we experienced La Farm's Croque Madame, and shopped for a good portion of the day. We are looking forward to dinner with some friends tonight. We are missing Troy, though! Sounds like he's enjoying himself in Ohio working on a family project.
