Library buddies

Our usual Wednesday morning involved story time at the local library. Lucia and her buddies enjoy the books, songs and camaraderie of toddler-hood. Phoebe fell asleep in the car so continued her snooze until story time started. She and her new friend Elise (now 6 weeks old) hung out together until Phoebe  woke up with a start at the noise.

Yogurtland

We tried yet another fro-yo place the other night.  Amazing how similar these shops can be, but yummy all the same!  Apparently, the Yogurtland franchise was started in California by a Korean man, so you know we had to support our peeps...

Snowgirl #2 of the season

Finally, the weather showered us with enough snow/rain/ice mix to make a snowgirl (the other one being in Ohio around Christmas time).  A good time was had by all!

New library

Last Saturday, we toured the amazing, new, high-tech library at Troy's school.  The variety of chairs astounded us, as well as the sleek but functional decor.  The library features a robot the pulls books from the stacks and entire walls of whiteboard. Many group study rooms are scattered throughout the building. We managed to capture a few shots of us in different seating arrangements.  The snow/rain mix falling outside presented a beautiful show outside the tall windows.  None of the photos do the place justice!  After oohing and aahing over the new library, we headed to the farmers market for a quick stop, then continued on to the old campus library which still garners the established academia feel.

Arboretum

On a sunny morning, we wandered around the local arboretum.  Lucia and her buddy Neil ran around the grass, played hide-and-seek, snacked on nuts and crackers, and found daffodils interesting.

Soda, anyone?

Last week, we stopped at a new Asian grocery store that just opened half-mile from our house.  It is now the third one in a two-mile radius around us.  Amazing, given that when we moved in, only one existed.  This particular store carried varied products but the one that caught my attention was this particular can of soda.

WAYYYY too much chocolate on Valentine's Day

Lucia started the day yesterday with a chocolate rose.  We then headed to the gym where she hung out with her buddies and happened to arrive in time for pink-frosted sugar cookies.  After running around the gym, then splashing in the pool (actually getting her face wet!!), we stopped for Caribou coffee BOGO mochas and then ate lunch at home.  Post-lunch nap lasted the typical two hours, and then Lucia helped me make our Valentine's desserts of heart-shaped chocolate pizza and chocolate-covered strawberries. The dipping of strawberries didn't interest her, but the licking of the chocolate off the spoon delighted her immensely!! (uhh...and she didn't actually fall asleep until 10:30 pm).

Lucia also helped me make cards for different ones.  This one for Daddy was cherry-picked off of pinterest (you've got to be proud of me for actually making something that I pinned!!)

Paraguyan clothes

We received this beautiful smocked outfit from Paraguay a while ago.  Finally, our girl has grown enough to wear it.  Thanks!  And happy heart day to everyone!
